Some viewers may remember when we first met this 23 year old and filmed his surgery.  He's now a couple of years out and getting a second case.  For you younger guys...watch this.  Wendy and I discuss what I think are the big deals with Hair work on younger guys.

1.  Get a mature hairline that will look ok as you age!

2.  Never rush into it...once you start down this road you can't get off of it.

3.  Bring your parents or anyone you want to help you make an informed and good decision for you

4.  And do your research...ask to see other younger guys your doctor has worked on.

The video is here:

Hopefully I can get the patient to chime in.

Great advice Dr.Lindsey, thank you for sharing.

No BS and honest, solid work as always Dr.Lindsey.

One question if you may... Why do you not recommend meds like propecia etc?

Several reasons.

1.  Side effects and 1% PERMANENT never getting it up again per a recent study I have taped up in my consultation room that I make everyone look at as I hand them a prescription.

2.  Lots of hair docs sell lots of crap, and many sell propecia which I am NOT grouping in that crap category....nevertheless, pretty much everything I 'sell' is hooked to a knife.  That way the customer is not worrying about me selling them some maintenance plan that only maintains my bank account and may not do much.

3.  And as I've posted many times, I give out 50 prescriptions a year or so.  To get a refill you have to come back in to the office so we can discuss side effects again.  Only about 25 come back each year.  A few of those have mild side effects that they live with  ONE, maybe TWO of those 25 grow a bunch of hair.  The other 23 want to know if they should keep taking it and frankly I don't know for any one specific patient.
