I wouldn't tell someone i'm dating mate, if it became long term then of course i would discuss it, no point in the early days as that is all it is at that point, dating.
If you feel fine talking about this to people you hardly know? You don't really need to be so open unless of course you become involved in a serious relationship.
If you have very deep relationship with you fellow then you should tell about the procedure ..
