The life cycle of each hair serves 3 stages: the anagen phase, also called growth phase that lasts between 2 and 6 years; catagen, transition lasting approximately 10 days; and lastly, the telogen phase, which varies around 3 months and is where hair loss is more noticeable.

 

When they finish these steps, the hair falls out, leaving the root to generate a new hair. Experts say between 85% and 90% of hairs are in the anagen phase or growth phase.

 

Here, a normal hair loss amounts to 100 hairs per day. And, as Dr. Alonso points out, 'the problem may lie not in the fall itself, but rather that the hair will not be renewed.'
